Ryan Ortega has extensive experience in financial communications, including working as a content creator for a large Los Angeles ETF firm, and as the host of a macro investment themed podcast featuring interviews with top investment managers. His investment expertise ranges from traditional assets, to venture capital and alternatives.
Ryan began his career at a small family office and later worked as a senior analyst for institutional investment firm Wilshire Associates. Most recently he co-led digital marketing and communications for an ETF asset manager with over $1B in AUM, helping to create content including email newsletters and webinars.
From 2019 to 2020, Ryan ran a popular podcast, “The Jelly Donut Podcast,” with more than 40 episodes, featuring interviews with investment professionals from a variety of hedge funds and family offices, including David Einhorn of Greenlight Capital. Ryan’s expertise in financial markets, combined with his strong writing and communications skills, helps him deliver strong communications guidance to clients in the financial industry.
He graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in Business Administration concentrating in Finance. He also earned the Personal Financial Planning (PFP) designation from UCLA Extension and the Claritas® Certificate given by the CFA® Institute. He holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 65 license.
